Mathematics

The major endeavors to provide:

  1. A strong foundational core curriculum for the student desiring to pursue graduate study in both the applied and pure fields of mathematical science within a Christian worldview.
  2. Course work and training to prepare students for industry (statistics, computer science, operations research and actuarial science) and the field of teaching.
  3. Support courses for other majors.

What will I study?

The Mathematics Major seeks to equip students with a strong foundational core curriculum to prepare students for careers in industry, to prepare students for graduate work in the field of mathematics, and to prepare secondary mathematics teachers.

Concentrations

Admissions Requirements

There are no special admission requirements for the Mathematics major. Majors normally have taken at least Precalculus in highschool. 

The Math Department suggests an SAT Math score of at least 500 (or the ACT equivalent) to pursue this major.
