The Mathematics Major seeks to equip students with a strong foundational core curriculum to prepare students for careers in industry, to prepare students for graduate work in the field of mathematics, and to prepare secondary mathematics teachers.
There are no special admission requirements for the Mathematics major. Majors normally have taken at least Precalculus in highschool.
The Math Department suggests an SAT score of at least 500 (or the ACT equivalent) to pursue this major.
Mathematical Science majors at Biola University find the Math Department thorough in both its educational quality and its personal attention to students. The faculty, staff and students involved in this program work together to make the study of mathematics a successful and enjoyable learning experience.
Biola graduates from the Mathematics major have gone on to study at the following graduate schools:
