
The mission of the department of History, Government, and Political Science is to foster a community of learners who, as lovers of truth, study history, political science, and geography. In recognition of both the dignity and depravity of humankind, our aim is to develop insight into past and present civilizations based upon our acknowledgement of God's providence, the dependability of his promises, and his redemptive purpose on earth. Through the rigors of our disciplines, we prepare our students to influence and transform the world for Jesus Christ through their lives and vocations in obedience to the Greatest Commandment and the Great Commission.
Through the study of systems of government, beginning with the American government, and their impact on the world at large, you will come to understand the purpose, functions, responsibilities and varieties of government in the world today. By interacting with govenment, you will enhance your research, writing, speaking and critical thinking skills, all of which are essential for success in the political and governmental arena.

Upon completion of the Political Science major, you will be well prepared to continue your studies or begin working in humanitarian organization, foreign service, military service, public administration, communication, political consulting, elected office and non-government organizations.
