Orientation Information

Student orientation generally begins the thrid week of August and is required for all students who are new to Biola University. Students living on campus may begin moving into campus housing on this date. For more information, be sure to check out the Student Orientation Services (SOS) website.

If you are enrolling in Torrey Honors Institute (THI) there is mandatory orientation for the program in mid-August. Be sure to contact the THI office at (562) 906-4555 if you have questions. You may also check the THI website for more information.

If you are a member of a Biola athletic team, please contact your coach regarding the date you are to report to campus. Athletes participating in a fall sport often need to arrive on campus prior to the official move-in date.

International Student and MK Orientation will take place in mid-August, prior to the campus-wide student orientation that is mentioned above. International and MK students may begin moving into on-campus housing prior to traditional incoming students.

Continue financial aid process: please refer to any correspondence from the financial aid office. Contact the Admissions office for another copy of the checklist if needed.

$300 enrollment deposit: you can submit the enrollment deposit by mail, in person, or online. Make sure you have your bank card handy and your student ID number in order to pay your enrollment deposit online. You can find your Biola student ID number on the "What's Next" folder in your acceptance packet. If you do not know your ID number, you can email admissionsdm@biola.edu to retrieve it. Your payment must be postmarked by May 1 (fall applicants) or January 1 (spring applicants). This deposit confirms your place for the next term and is non-refundable after the deposit deadline. Please make checks payable to Biola University.

Housing application: once we have processed your enrollment deposit, you will be sent a confirmation email from the Biola admissions office. In this email you will be given instruction on how to create your personal account on my.biola.edu, Biola's online student portal. If you wish to be considered for on-campus housing, after you create an account with my.biola.edu you can login and complete a housing application. For further instruction on how to apply online, and after receiving our email and creating an account with my.biola.edu, you can follow the online instructions for the housing application, or the online instructions for the commuter application, and also the online instructions for the roommate request application if you wish to room with a specific person as an incoming student. The current Housing application, and Commuter application, for incoming students for the Fall semester will be available on my.biola.edu on February 15. For more information on Biola housing, please visit the Housing page for incoming students. We will send you an email once your enrollment deposit has been processed. Complete by May 1 (fall applicants) or January 1 (spring applicants). We have a full listing of the housing Costs on our website.

$250 housing deposit: you can submit the housing deposit online with a bank card as part of the housing application. If you aren't able to pay with a bank card, contact your admissions counselor for instructions. Complete by May 1 (fall applicants) or January 1 (spring applicants). The housing deposit is non-refundable after July 1 (fall applicants) and January 1 (spring applicants).

Request to Commute: if you wish to commute to campus complete the online application at my.biola.edu by clicking the following: student tab, myhousing, apply online. For more detailed directions, follow these steps to sign-up for commuting. You can do this after we process your enrollment deposit. We will send you an email once your enrollment deposit has been processed. Complete by May 1 (fall applicants) or January 1 (spring applicants).

Registration Profile: this required form must be submitted by May 1 (fall applicants), or January 1 (spring applicants), in order to complete online registration for your first semester courses at Biola. You can complete the Registration Profile online.

International students F-1 visa student tuition deposit: this deposit is required for F-1 visa students before an I-20 can be issued. You are required to pay the same enrollment deposit as traditional students (detailed above). Additionally, you are also required to submit an Affidavit of Support and a bank statement before we can issue an I-20 for your student visa process. Payments can be made using one of the following options:

  1. Online by using a credit card. If you would like to use this option, please click here.
  2. Check or money order made out (payable) to Biola University. Funds must be drawn in USD, and the student's legal name and ID number must be given as reference so that the payment can be credited accordingly. If you are sending a check or money order from overseas, we encourage you to use a courier service that allows you to track its receipt. Mail can be sent to:

  3. Writing of funds directly to Biola University. If you would like to use this option, please contact your admissions counselor to get the wiring instructions and bank account information for Biola University.
  4. If you are currently in the area, or will be traveling to visit Biola before you enroll, you can also make a payment in person at the Admissions reception desk.

Physical exam & health forms: you can download the required forms on our Health Center page and submit them to the Student Health Center by mail or fax (562-906-4512). Note: Athletes must complete the athletic physical form instead of the regular health form. The following forms are due by August 1 and must be submitted in order for you to complete final enrollment: Undergraduate Physical Exam & Health History formMeningitis Advisory formNotice of Privacy Practices form

Final high school transcript: due prior to final enrollment. Must be mailed directly from your high school to Biola and must have your graduation date posted on it. 

Official college transcript(s): due prior to final enrollment. Must be mailed directly from the issuing institution to Biola. 

Signed academic success plan: only applicable if you received an Academic Success Plan in your acceptance packet. Sign and return the original copy to Biola’s Undergraduate Admissions office.

    Juniors in high school!! Do you want a taste of the college experience? Join us at Biola University on one of our many available dates for a Junior Session. You will have the opportunity to go to chapel, attend a Junior (information) Session given by one of our Admissions Counselors, tour the campus, eat lunch in the cafeteria (on us!), and attend a class in the afternoon (optional).

    Registration for Dinner with Director is OPEN! Bring your high school son or daughter to Biola and join us on this exclusive visit opportunity. We will take you on a tour of the campus, accompany you for dinner in our Cafe Banquet Room, and share with you the distinctiveness of Biola University by André Stephens, Senior Director of Undergraduate Admissions.
