Applying for the LEAD Scholarship

Biola University's long-standing mission has been to prepare and equip students for leadership to serve the Christian community and society at large. In keeping with its mission, the University desires to provide a program designed to recruit and retain students who are committed to diversity and have a passion for promoting multicultural awareness. We believe these students will make distinctive contributions and provide cultural enrichment both inside and outside the University.

Who is eligible?

Any student who has developed a personal understanding of their own ethnic background and has engaged in activities that promote multi-ethnic awareness, learning, and celebration within the context of the United States. In addition, students applying should have a cumulative high school GPA of a 3.0 or above, and/or cumulative transfer GPA of a 2.5 or higher.

Amount

$4,000 to $6,500 per years

Application process

Students desiring considering for the 2013-2014 LEAD Scholarship must submit this completed application, as well as responses to the questions listed below, no later than January 29, 2014. A student must have completed the admissions process to Biola by February 14 to be considered for this scholarship. You have the option to mail your application to:

    Juniors in high school!! Do you want a taste of the college experience? Join us at Biola University on one of our many available dates for a Junior Session. You will have the opportunity to go to chapel, attend a Junior (information) Session given by one of our Admissions Counselors, tour the campus, eat lunch in the cafeteria (on us!), and attend a class in the afternoon (optional).

    Registration for Dinner with Director is OPEN! Bring your high school son or daughter to Biola and join us on this exclusive visit opportunity. We will take you on a tour of the campus, accompany you for dinner in our Cafe Banquet Room, and share with you the distinctiveness of Biola University by André Stephens, Senior Director of Undergraduate Admissions.

    The Admissions Staff at Biola University understands that making your decision of where to attend college is an exciting time – we're here to help! Come by our office on Thursday, May 1, where you can submit your deposits go on a tour of the dorms, and have a relaxing meal in the cafeteria – on us!
